About Colin Ludwell Cars
After many years experience gained in the mechanical side of the motor trade, listening to horror stories, problems and complaints regarding the purchase of the new and used vehicles from motor dealers, I decided to do some research.
I wanted to know what it would take to setup my own business as a motor dealer / provider.
In 1982, after many months of meetings and gentle persuasion from my bank manager, I decided to setup up a small manageable operation selling used but quality vehicles. I had high standards that needed to be followed by all and everyone who had dealings with my business. This meant I could confidently retail used vehicles without the problems I'd encountered so frequently during my mechanical days!
Slowly, and with precise management, I grew my business to the point where I had the opportunity to purchase our current premises. This took place in 1998. This meant I could present quality vehicles in a clean showroom environment, demonstrating how professional and committed I am. The Business has now doubled in size with the acquisition of the adjacent land in 2003.Now with just under 1 acre of land, I am able to display up to 130 vehicles for sale at any one time and have my own workshops, not just for the preparation of the cars before they are presented for sale, but any service requirements my customers may have during their ownership.
I have listened to complaints from customers regarding the purchase price of a new car within the UK, as a consequence I thought there may be a chance we could explore and become a new car supplier. I fully appreciated the implications and pitfalls alike of becoming a new car provider, although felt we could outweigh this with our experience, and was confident we could become a force to be reckoned with at which point we started supplying new cars at much reduced prices.

The man who built this successful business from nothing, please read the 'about us' page to see how. Colin spends most of his time as the company buyer, travelling all over the country to purchase quality stock he wishes to put his name to. This makes the salesman's job an awful lot easier having hand picked cars opposed to cars bought in bulk from auctions. If you cannot see the car you desire in stock please use our 'car finder' service and Colin will go out of his way to meet your requirements.
Dave has rejoined the company after three years away. His back ground includes working for big PLC Motor Groups as well as Independent Dealers at both Sales and Management Level. With 15 Years experience and not only with cars but also with light commercials Vehicles please feel free to contact him If you cant see what you are looking and he will do his up most to source the vehicle you require.
Nick joined us in early 2007 after several years of retail experience, eager to learn about the motor sales industry. He has now developed his skills in selling cars as well as arranging motor finance and becoming accredited by the FSA in the general insurance for the motor industry.
Bryn started with us after the chain Woolworths closed. Starting on a casual basis he soon showed he could become a valued member of our team. He was offered a full time job with us and his main responsibility is over see the web site and the Internet side of the Business.
Jane was poached from our local bank following her recommendations to hire someone to take care of the paperwork and banking. We now get biscuits every morning and all our paper work completed to perfection. Jane takes care of all the administration and accounts, she is a great asset to the company.
With Colin's business growing daily, along with his paperwork, Tracey was brought in part-time to help Jane with the administration and accounts department. She is an asset and valued member to our ever growing team.
